On December 13th, Dr. Stollar was the guest speaker for “WNY LIT: Literacy Instructors Together,” a professional learning group for whose mission is to support teachers in their efforts to learn more about evidence-based reading instruction; exchange ideas and best practices; ask questions and receive support; and create a community of educators working together to improve reading instruction for all students.

It will be a powerful, in-person event where Stacey Pellicano, an area educator and advocate for students with dyslexia and founder of Dyslexia Services of WNY, will use dyslexia simulation exercises so that participants to experience for themselves the frustration of the dyslexic child. There will also be discussion on the importance of classroom accommodations, effective interventions, and assistive technology.
